spirit festival even the taste of water fragrant A spirit festival is to welcome dead people's spirits. In this haiku, ‘even the taste of water is fragrant’ means the water has fragrance. On the Buddhist altar where flowering grasses are offered, the candles are glowing and the fragrant incense smoke is rising. Therefore, the water in the offering bowls also looks fragrant. |
