sometimes skylarks get lost in the clouds

I went to the field on a quiet spring day and found a singing skylark high in the sky, after it had made its nest. When it's flying so high it looks like a black dot among the clouds. Sometimes the clouds cover the skylarks so they disappear and I can't see where they went.
